Ausco pioneered and patented the Spring-Applied Hydraulically Released Multi-disc Brakes in 1971. Today, their Engineering, Design, Test & Development, and Production capabilities are among the best in supplying brakes to the off-highway industry. Because their brakes are easily designed into power transmission systems they have many engineering features that translate into important user and specifier benefits. For example:

Their Multi-disc Brakes are used both on Construction, Mining, Agriculture, Lifting, Industrial and Marine equipment.
Continuing to bring you the latest in heavy-duty brake technology and recognizing the advantages of wet brake technology, Ausco engineers applied their brake design expertise to develop the New Generation line with excellent benefits: |

Multi-Disc Brake with Service Brake
This brake combines the features of the Ausco Multi-Disc Brake and a limited service brake. This is typically a low speed, low energy application of the service brake. In normal operation, the release piston is pressurized, releasing the brake. Pressure applied to the service pistons develops brake torque proportional to the applied pressure. |

MULTI-DISC BRAKE WITH ONE-WAY CLUTCH
T his brake combines the features of the Ausco Multi-Disc Brake with the capability of the brake shaft to freewheel in one direction while the brake is applied. In winch applications, the one-way clutch allows rotation to raise the load, even though the brake is applied.
When the load is stopped or if pressure is lost due to a failure in the hydraulic system, any reverse rotation engages the clutch and the load is held by the applied brake.
No incremental dropping of the load is experienced. While lowering the load, the brake must be released and the control must be provided by a counterbalance valve or other suitable hydraulic control. The brake then assumes normal spring-applied hydraulic release operation. |

LONG LASTING PERFORMANCE
Completely sealed and enclosed, Ausco's wet multi-disc parking brake keeps out corrosive environments so they don't reduce the life of the brake. Dirt, mud, water, sap, pulp acids, corrosive hazards - the sealed design takes less maintenance and gives performance that exceeds government standards. Performance far beyond any exposed caliper brake.
REPLACES SEVERAL SEPARATE COMPONENTS
Because this sealed brake mounts at the articulation joint, it can replace the separate front bearing carrier, caliper brake, disc and all mounting hardware. You cut component inventory, simplify production and reduce assembled cost.
PROVEN DESIGNS TO FIT YOUR VEHICLE
Current models span torque ranges from 17,000 Ib.-in. to 102,000 lb.-in., but Ausco engineers can design a specific brake for your articulated vehicle without a long development cycle. |
