Founded in 1919, Fairfield Manufacturing Company, Inc; is a long-term provider of top quality gears and gearing systems. After acquiring Torque-Hub, Inc. early in 1972 Fairfield has pursued a vigorous program to expand development and manufacturing capability to keep up with market demands.
Fairfield produces quality gears of all types in sizes up to 80" for leading manufacturers of agricultural equipment, construction machinery, mining machines, trucks, buses, military vehicles, material-handling equipment and many other types of machinery.

The original one and three series Wheel Drive and Shaft Output units were followed by the ten series, seven series and twenty series sizes and right angle drives. High performance 6, 12, and 50 series Wheel Drive and Shaft Output units along with two speed parallel shaft and planetary units have been developed in recent years.

Through continued investment in technology, processes and human resources, Fairfield is a world-class supplier with the engineering resources, the manufacturing capability and the production capacity to deliver the best value in the industry.

For Industrial Machinery and Mobile Equipment Torque Hub final drives deliver the torque output and long-life performance required for industrial machinery and off-highway mobile equipment.

Standard input configurations and a choice of shaft; spindle or wheel drive output options combine to meet the needs of many power transmission applications. In addition, standard SAE hydraulic motor mounting provisions accommodate nearly any hydraulic motor.

The application flexibility provided by these features and the broad range of torque outputs and gearing ratios available have helped to make Torque Hub the preferred final drives of manufacturers throughout the world. Our customers include the world's leading manufacturers of agricultural and construction equipment, conveyors, augers, mixers, wire drawing capstan winches, metal roll bending machinery, garbage shredders, aerators and many other types of specialized products.

More Power in a Smaller, Lighter and More Efficient Design

Ideal for propelling off-highway equipment, wheel drives are also used to power winches and many marine applications. Fairfield wheel drives allow the design engineer greater flexibility to economically deliver power where it is needed.

Shaft outputs facilitate the delivery of power to remote in-plant machinery such as conveyors, mixers and augers. They also meet remote power requirements such as swing drives on mobile man-lifts, cranes, excavators and logging equipment.

Spindle outputs are used to power the drive wheels of vehicles with small diameter wheels such as small lift trucks and mowers. They meet many other requirements where a flange mount is more desirable.

Torque-Hub 07 Series:

This compact infinitely variable (speed), fully reversible final drive system is built specifically for today's high-torque, low-speed gerotor / roller type hydraulic motors. Piston and gear motors with SAE mountings can be used for applications needing high speed and low torques.

With stronger shafts for their size they can handle greater corresponding load capacities. And, they’re designed to let you adapt motors directly to the proper cover plate and adaptor coupling (with or without the ball ramp type input brake)

Torque-Hub 4 Series:

The 4 Series is a further compliment to the broad family of Torque-Hub planetary drives. Designed with a differential planetary offering an extended reduction from 12 o 37.

Torque-Hub 1 Series:   Single Planetary Units

Specifically designed for today's high-torque, low-speed gear and gerotor / roller type hydraulic motors. Built to maximize system efficiency and vehicle productivity with compact, high performance final drive.

They built with stronger shafts for their size, and as a result, handle greater corresponding load capacities.

Torque-Hub 1 Series:

The 1 Series is a major part of the broad family of Torque-Hub planetary drives. Designed with a differential planetary it offers an extended reduction from 18 o 69.

The 1 Series models are built to be fully reversible final drives, perfectly able to complement such various function motors as piston, gerotor / roller, and gear type. They're designed to accommodate SAE " A " and "B" mount hydraulic motors.

Torque-Hub CT & CW Series:

The CT and CW Series Torque-Hub final drives combined with the appropriate motor provide one of the shortest, most compact track and wheel drive systems available. Double (CT) or Triple (CW) planetary reductions optimize gear efficiency, which mean more torque from a smaller package.

Providing Stable, Controlled Braking . . .

Fairfield’s precision-engineered Torque-Lock input brakes mean business. As part of your final drive system, Fairfield’s Torque-Lock brakes enforce solid, dependable braking on a wide range of applications, including wheel drives, swing drives and track drives.

Heavy-duty silicone chrome springs and a long lasting, sintered bronze friction material on the discs ensure an unforgiving grip.

At the core of the Torque-Lock design, making all the difference in your final drive system performance, is a "gear-" tough splined shaft, carburized in Fairfield’s own in-house heat treating facility.

Self-contained and tight-sealed construction protects the Torque-Lock against contamination for reduced maintenance and exceptional brake longevity.
